 Dr. Herndon has been Breakthrough's Medical Director since 2001 and, with the rest of the clinical staff, is involved in each client's treatment plan and progress. He attends Breakthrough's weekly staff meetings to monitor the medical condition of each client and plays an active role in ongoing assessment,diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Herndon has a 30 year interest in the interaction between brain chemistry, behavior, and emotions. Dr. Herndon is Board Certified in internal medicine and has a Master degree in Physiopsychology. He has spent 25 years working in general internal medicine. He is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
