FIVE WISHES IN-SERVICE

Saturday, Jan.  26, 2008, 10-11:30 p.m. 2731 Wetmore Avenue, Everett

Learn about the Five Wishes document, which is a way to help people talk about and plan for care at the end of life and how they want to be treated if they are unable to speak for themselves. To register for the free educatinal event on Five Wishes call 425-261-4808.

ANGEL RIDE FOR HOSPICE:  July 2008, starting at Toby Magee’s in Everett
80-mile motorcycle ride & poker run. 11 a.m. buffet with ride starting at noon. Information:  425-261-4859.

RC RACE-OFF: July 2008, sponsored by Thrasher’s Corner Pub
Annual remote control car race, benefits the Standing Together pediatric bereavement program. BBQ hamburgers, hot dogs, and oysters.  Entertainment includes music and gold fish races. Information: 425- 481-0211.

BRUNCH BY THE BAY: October 2008, hosted by Anthony’s Woodfire Grill
This annual Sunday Champagne Brunch and Auction supports the Carousel Program — pediatric hospice, home care, bereavement services, and Camp Erin. Information: 425-261-4859.

BEREAVEMENT PROGRAMS

THE NEWLY BEREAVED WORKSHOP:
Every third Thursday of month, 6-7:30, 2731 Wetmore Ave., Everett.
An introduction to understanding the grief process will include discussion by professional counselors on what to expect in grief, different styles of grieving, how grief affects families and how the Providence Hospice Bereavement Department can help. Free of charge. Information: (425) 261-4807

ADULT GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS

SAFE PASSAGES — General loss support group (6 weeks)
LEGACIES — Support group for adult women who have lost their mother (six weeks)
MEN GRIEVE TOO — Support group designed for those who have experienced a loss
SOUL SURVIVORS — Support group for those who have lost a spouse (six weeks)

YOUTH GRIEF SUPPORT

STANDING TOGETHER FOR KIDS AND TEENS
1st Saturday of month, noon to 2 p.m.
Support and education for children 6 to 17 who have lost a loved one.  Pizza lunch is provided.  No fee for service.  Registration required, call 425-261-4771.

CAMP ERIN:  Summer 2008
A bereavement camp for kids & teens ages 6-17.  No fee to attend camp, however, qualification and registration is required. Information:  425-261-4771.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING

CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
3rd Friday of each month 2-3:30 p.m. and the 1st Monday of each month, 6:30-8 p.m.  Contact 425-261-4808
