A: Companions do light housework, light meal preparation, run errands, take clients to appointments or other places they want to go, take vitals (blood pressure, pulse, etc.), and assist with medication as well as being a friend and companion. Personal care providers handle the same tasks as companions, but also help with additional personal care, including bathing, toileting, dressing, transfers, home exercise programs.
