The main reason given for working at Marianwood is that we are a mission-driven organization. Being non-profit, and having the focus on patients and residents, provides a meaningful difference that can be felt when visiting at Marianwood. This focus draws a special kind of employee to Marianwood; one that enjoys interacting with residents and providing care to the whole person, instead of just their health issues. Many of our staff have been here since Marianwood opened in 1986. Here are what a few of our employees have to say about working at Marianwood:
 |
Bev Reitenbach, MDS Nurse. Employee since 1991.
"I appreciate working at Marianwood for many reasons. One of the most important reasons is we have quality staff. Staff seem to genuinely care about the residents and each other. The relationship between staff and residents feels like family.
It isn’t just nursing that cares for patients. Our Housekeepers, Laundry staff and Maintenance guys go out of their way to pay special attention to residents.
I also appreciate that we serve all residents, regardless of their ability to pay. All residents are treated equally and provided all their needs."

Julie Call, Unit C Charge Nurse. Employee since 1989.
"I have always considered Marianwood to be an exceptional place. Our core values are evident in the care we provide. The Lord truly blesses our employees with strength to labor daily with their hearts and hands in providing respectful and compassionate care to those who are entrusted in our safekeeping." |
 |
Sandi DeMarr, Nurse's Assistant on Rehab Unit/Admissions. Employee since 1991.
"Providence Marianwood is like an extended family to me. I enjoy being at work on a daily basis connecting with people of all types. Staff, volunteers, residents and their families all work together to provide the excellent care that we give. The teamwork between us is what sets us apart as a quality facility."

Diana Kirschenmann, Nurse's Assistant on Dementia Unit. Employee since 1990.
"I've worked at Marianwood for 15 years. I've stayed this long because of the high level of care given to our dementia residents and their families. When we take care of residents, we also give our help and understanding to the family. Residents, families, and staff truly become 'family.' If we lose a patient, we often hear from a family member that it is hard for them not to return because of the relationship we have. We encourage them to come back as we miss them too, and appreciate being able to offer comfort and support."
