O'Christmas Trees: 25th Anniversay Gala Dinner & Auction

PRITCHARD FAMILY MEMBERS NAMED AS CHAIRS
AND HONORARY CHAIRS OF
2009 PROVIDENCE O’CHRISTMAS TREES FUNDRAISER

Continued from home page...Public service is part of the Pritchard family’s culture. “We’ve been involved in several organizations since coming to Seattle and believe we have an obligation to offer our time and our talent and some of our treasure to make the community in which we live and work a better place,” Llew Pritchard said.

A partner with a long-established Seattle law firm Helsell Fetterman, Pritchard has made his mark over the past four decades in a variety of organizations. He has served as President and a Life Trustee of PONCHO, President and Chairman of the Board of the Seattle Symphony, Trustee and executive committee member of the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, President of the Allied Arts Foundation, and member of the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association. He has also served as a director of the Museum of Glass, Eastside YMCA, Seattle Public Defender Corp., Deaconess Children’s Home, and the Pacific Northwest Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Jonie, who raised the couple’s four children at home, is also an active community member, serving as scheduler for numerous political campaigns and working as a lay minister at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle.

The Pritchards chose to support Providence O’Christmas Trees because they believe in the organization’s mission to serve the poor and vulnerable. “The mission of Providence O’Christmas Trees is one that we really support in terms of its outreach in the community, the group of citizens it benefits, and we applaud its work,” Llew Pritchard said. “I’m attempting to assist them in raising badly needed dollars so that they can continue the excellent enterprise that they have going.”

Andrew – the third of the Pritchard’s four children – has been volunteering with Providence O’Christmas Trees for three years. He has served as emcee of the Family Affair Treeview and the Silver Bells Luncheon, in addition to voicing the microphone during the silent auction at the gala. He and Becky co-own Event Service Productions, and provide event services to dozens of events each year. Like his father, he is a trustee of PONCHO.

This event is one that’s closest to their heart. “I do 100 of these a year,” Andrew Pritchard said. “One thing that I’ve noticed is that there’s little or no fundraising for seniors. Raising money to help senior citizens – Providence is so successful in doing it. It is a fundamental need in this community right now and unfortunately nobody else is doing it.”

Becky, who works in the healthcare industry for WellnessOne, has volunteered with Providence O’Christmas Trees for four years. A Christmas fanatic, she was also drawn to the organization because of its mission to serve the poor and vulnerable through compassionate service.

This year’s event will take place Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, 2009, at The Westin Seattle, 1900 Fifth Ave. It will begin with a free public “A Family Affair Treeview” on Nov. 30, continue with the “Silver Bells Luncheon” on Dec. 1, and culminate in the “O’Christmas Trees Gala Dinner and Auction” on Dec. 2.

Celebrating caring services that enhance the lives of those in need through healthcare, housing, and hospice.
