Salary Below is the salary schedule for the 2009-2010 academic year for residents within Providence Health & Services in Oregon. (Salaries for the 2010-2011 academic year will be posted in February 2010.)

Benefits – Residents:
Vacation: Four weeks of paid vacation; one week of vacation is pre-assigned by the program in the PGY-1 year
Oregon limited licensure fee: Paid in full by hospital
USMLE Step 3 and COMLEX fees: Paid in full by hospital
Meals: Meal allowance provided to the residents at no charge.
White lab coats: Paid in full by hospital.
Education allowance: $500 stipend per academic year to be used for educational purposes.
Counseling and support: Professional and confidential counseling and support programs for physicians available through Wellspring counseling services at no cost to residents.
Benefits – All Employees:
Medical and dental insurance: Offered on a shared-cost basis or paid in full by hospital, depending on coverage selected
Health and dependent care reimbursement accounts: Pre-tax deductionsused to pay for eligible health, dental, vision and day-care expenses
Retirement account: Defined contribution plan, including employer match
Life insurance: Paid in full by hospital
Medical, parental and family leave: Based on applicable federal and Oregon laws
On-site day care: Available for children of employees
Mass transit pass: Free annual transit pass providing free ridership on TriMet and C-Tran buses, as well as MAX light rail and trolley systems
Liability insurance: Paid in full by hospital
Disability insurance: Paid in full by hospital
Fitness center: Onsite fitness center located in the hospital, with membership discount for employees and family members
