Providence Brain Institute brings together the excellent services Providence provides for treatment of stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, ALS and all neurosurgical conditions.
Providence is home to:

- The newest Gamma Knife technology, Perfexion, which offers a faster, more accurate way to treat complex brain lesions without surgery
- The region’s most advanced biplane laboratory for complex, finely detailed, minimally invasive treatment of stroke and brain aneurysms
- Clinical trials on the most highly sophisticated treatments for stroke and MS, some of which are unavailable anywhere else in Oregon

Northwest's first iMRI coming to Providence
The world's most advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology is coming to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. The intraoperative MRI will allow a fusion of real-time imaging with surgery, enhancing neurosurgeons' ability to safely and completely remove brain tumors in deep areas of the brain. MS Patient Registry Project needs your help
Please consider participating in the Multiple Sclerosis Patient Registry Project, which aims to improve the amount and availability of MS treatment to patients living in the Pacific Northwest. Providence Stroke Center earns national award
The American Stroke Association has announced that Providence Stroke Center, which treats patients at Providence Portland Medical Center and Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, has earned the prestigious “Get With The Guidelines & Sustained Performance Award.”
ALS Center earns rare national certification
Providence ALS Center, the first facility of its kind in Oregon, became the 28th ALS center in the United States to earn certification by the national ALS Association. “The certification is an affirmation that the center…is delivering the gold standard of care,” said Gary A. Leo, president and CEO of the ALS Association.
