Providence Multiple Sclerosis Center Services
Built on a philosophy of persistent, focused treatment, Providence Multiple Sclerosis Center provides prompt, comprehensive care and support for patients with MS.
The care and support of each patient is designed specifically to address that person’s needs and preferences. The goal of treatment is to help each patient minimize the impact of MS upon his or her life through use of medication therapy, physical rehabilitation, counseling and support services, as needed.
Stanley L. Cohan M.D., PhD., directs the center. He has extensive experience in MS treatment and clinical research. Formerly professor and chairman of the Department of Neurology at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Cohan was one of the investigators in the pivotal trial of interferon beta-1a (Avonex), leading to its approval for multiple sclerosis treatment.
Mark Morrow, M.D., serves as associate medical director of the center. A neuro-ophthalmologist and neurotologist, he has special expertise in treating the vision and balance problems that MS patients frequently face.
Dr. Cohan created the Providence center because he recognized the need to expand treatment programs for MS patients in this region. “We strive to provide the best care for every patient so that no one will be left without meaningful therapeutic weapons to fight their disease.”
