Audiology Services

Your hearing is our specialty.

Millions of men, women and children experience hearing problems. These problems can seriously interfere with daily communication and cause dizziness and balance problems.

Audiologists are uniquely qualified to evaluate, identify, diagnose and treat hearing loss, auditory processing and balance disorders. Providence Audiology Services include:

  • Complete hearing evaluations for children and adults - Our audiology evaluations test for hearing loss within a wide spectrum of hearing frequencies.
  • Middle ear assessment - During this assessment, we check the structure of the inner ear, including the tiny bones inside the ear, to make sure they transmit sound properly. We also measure the response of the eardrum.
  • Hearing aid evaluation and fitting - If your doctor prescribes a hearing aid, our audiologists can help you determine what type will best meet your needs. They also will fit the hearing aid correctly for optimum performance.
  • Vestibular disorders evaluation - This evaluation helps to identify the cause of perpetual dizziness and problems in coordination between vision and balance. Our evaluation measures eye movement related to dizziness.
  • Assistive listening devices - For the hearing impaired, we offer options to everyday items that traditionally rely upon sound, such as doorbells, telephones and alarm clocks.
  • Custom hearing protection - Whether a worker needs specialized industrial hearing protection or a musician needs protection with high tonal accuracy, we can help a person protect their hearing from excessive sound.

Health insurance plans often cover audiology services. Check with your plan for coverage details. A physician referral may be required.
