The deadline to register for Team Providence has passed, but you can still register as an individual. Dont' forget to stop by the Providence booth on race day to dance with us! We will be giving away pennants, pink gloves and pink pocket mirrors throughout the morning while supplies last.

Good Vibes noontime concerts
Live music returns to the William Gray III Courtyard at Providence Cancer Center with the Good Vibes Concert Series, beginning July 9. Bring your lunch, or buy it from the Providence Fresh Express food cart. The series is sponsored by the Providence Cancer Center, Providence Portland Medical Center's Employee Activities Committee, and Music Millennium. Performers will include a variety of musicians playing at noon on Fridays through Sept. 24. See the flier for a listing of all performers.

Providence Cancer Center is now recognized as one of the nation’s best community cancer facilities by the National Cancer Institute. Providence is among 14 new sites chosen by the institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, to join a national network of community cancer centers offering expanded research opportunities and state-of-the art cancer care. This selection is the first of this type in the Northwest and comes with $2.8 million over the next two years to fund the expansion of programs already making a difference in cancer care and research.

Schedule a mammogram
Mammogram screening is an important step in the early detection of breast cancer. If you are 40 and older, or if you're younger and think you’re at high risk, we encourage you to schedule an appointment for a screening mammogram (fees apply). To schedule a mammogram, call 503-215-6079 or request an appointment online.

Breast self-examinations
In addition to receiving regular mammogram screenings, you are encouraged to lead a healthy lifestyle, visit your physician regularly, and pay attention to how your breasts look and feel. Look out for thickening or lumps. If you notice any changes, contact your physician.

Online community support available for patients and caregivers
Breast cancer patients and others can access CarePages for extra support, in addition to the breast care services available through Providence Health & Services.
