20th Annual Christmas Forest Recap
It was another outstanding year for the 20th anniversary of Christmas Forest! The holiday fundraising event grossed over $500,000 and netted an estimated $350,000. Almost 6,000 visitors passed through the doors of the Red Lion Olympia Hotel to view more than 60 beautifully decorated trees and wreaths. Plus, the sold out Forest Gala and Auction attracted more than 430 guests and the single evening event raised $252,000.
The auction’s special fund-an-item was seven dash patient monitors for the Providence Immediate and Progressive Care Units. With the assistance of this technology Providence staff will have the most accurate information possible about a patient ‘s condition. This data will save critical minutes in the assessment of patients and serve as a vital resource to our nurses during bedside procedures and treatments. Thanks to the generosity of many people, more than $97,000 in pledges was contributed to this important effort.
Deep appreciation is extended to Forest title sponsor Titus-Will Chevrolet, Cadillac, Hyundai; Co-Chairs Dick and Judy Blinn; the Forest Executive Committee; dedicated sponsors, designers, and volunteers, whose time, talent and energy contributed to the success of the event. Greg and Christina Stormans will serve as the 2008 Forest Co-Chairs.
Watch for details regarding the 21st Christmas Forest celebration opening, Thursday, November 27, 2008.
2007 Festival of Trees a huge success!
On behalf of the Providence Health Care Foundation and the Festival of Trees committee, we would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to each and every person who contributed their time to the Festival of Trees this year. Through the efforts of more than 300 participants, over $100,000 was raised to aid in the purchase of a Digital Mammography System for the Radiology department at Providence Centralia Hospital.
This year’s Fund-An-Item had guests raising their paddles high in the air to support the purchase of a new Fetal Monitor for the Family Birth Center. In a matter of minutes, almost $25,000 was raised for the worthy cause.
Nearly 3,000 visited the Festival of Trees this year, kicking off the holiday season in true spirit. The Holiday Magic Luncheon, Festival’s new event, featured an amazing comedy performance by Jeff Evans, which brought in an audience of over 100 guests.
At the Gala Dinner & Auction, the hot item of the evening was the table setting designed by Nancy Chrisp of Nan’s Scrapbook Inn, bringing in $4,700 for the Festival of Trees.
Mark your calendars! 2008 will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Festival of Trees, and is scheduled for November 24-29, 2008. If you would like to get involved with the Festival, please contact Angela French, Events Coordinator, at (360) 807-7942. There are many opportunities to show your support of Providence Centralia Hospital and help provide the best health care possible for our community.
