Our Services

Our full continuum of care includes assessment, detoxification, inpatient treatment, day treatment, and a range of outpatient services. Chemical Dependency Professionals will recommend an individualized blend of the following services:

Chemical Dependency Screen (SASSI)
Responses to a quick survey, called the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI), are used to reliably determine the need for a complete chemical dependency assessment.

Chemical Dependency Diagnostic Assessment/Evaluation
A biopsychosocial assessment provides a clear indication of the level of impairment caused from chemical dependency use. Our specially trained staff will complete an assessment and use the findings to develop an individualized treatment plan.

Legal Documentation of Assessment/Evaluation
Specific documentation and report generation for individuals as required by the court.

History and Physical (H&P)
A history and physical is required for all individuals admitted to inpatient programs.

Medical Detoxification
Twenty-four hour medically directed detoxification services are provided to patients whose symptoms are sufficiently severe to require primary medical services. Length of stay depends on individual medical need, typically between two and three days.

Inpatient Rehabilitation
Variable length of stay program based on the individual needs of each patient following the ASAM patient placement criteria. A patient may stay in inpatient for only a few days, while another will stay for several weeks. The decision on the length of stay is based on clinical and medical need and is determined by the multidisciplinary team. The program offers an organized service, staffed by designated addiction treatment personnel and an addiction credentialed physician.

Partial Hospitalization/Day Treatment
Partial Hospitalization generally provides daytime structured treatment services, clinically based on individual treatment needs. Treatment takes place during regular working hours, but the patient returns home in the evening and attends self-help recovery groups during non-treatment hours. The patient lives at home and has to assume more responsibility than would be the case in an inpatient setting. A prerequisite for this level of care is a stable recovery environment as well as a solid support system. Patients have ready access to psychiatric, medical and laboratory services.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Intensive Outpatient involves a structured day or evening treatment program. For clinically appropriate patients this program provides essential education and treatment components while allowing the patient to apply their newly acquired skills within the “real world” environment. The program has the capacity to make referrals for medical and psychological consultation. This is a variable length of stay program based on clinical need. Typical length of stay is up to 10 weeks, at a schedule of three times per week for 2.5-hour sessions.

Outpatient
Outpatient is delivered in a variety of groups, each with specific treatment goals. The outpatient program is designed to provide additional support for those patients having completed a specific phase of treatment or those needing additional skills with relapse prevention. The goal is to achieve permanent changes in the patient’s alcohol or other drug using behavior. Most outpatient groups are available in both day and evening sessions.

Outpatient Level I:  This is a one time per week group that meets for 10-26 weeks, 1.5 hours per session. Length of time that an individual spends in this group is based on individual needs. This group is available in both day and evening sessions. This group typically meets the clinical needs of those patients completing the Intensive Outpatient Program.

Relapse Prevention:  This is a highly structured group for those individuals that have participated in a formal treatment program and continue to experience relapse. The group follows a specific curriculum that is designed to help participants identify individual relapse cues and develop strategies and a specific plan to interrupt the relapse cycle prior to the actual use of alcohol and or other drugs. This program meets for 1.5 hours per session, once a week, for 12-16 weeks.

Monitor
This is a once monthly, one-hour, court-required session that is non-therapeutic in design. This program is designed to monitor a patient’s attendance to self-help recovery support groups and compliance with abstinence. Patients who attend Monitor are typically under the jurisdiction of the courts or are required by their employers to attend. This is a non-medically necessary session and is the financial responsibility of the patient, in most cases. Monitor is available in both day and evening sessions.

Individual Counseling
Individual counseling approaches assume a one-to-one encounter between the patient and the counselor. These sessions are designed to complement the group sessions and allow the patient and the clinician to work on, and develop, individualized treatment plans. Jointly the patient and the clinician develop strategies to move towards resolution of treatment issues. These sessions may include family members, if clinically appropriate. Individual sessions occur, at a minimum, once for every twenty hours of group.

Abuse Group/Education Group
Youth ages 13-18 receive chemical dependency education and participate in a group dialogue focused on accepting personal responsibility for their behavior. Groups meet once weekly, and complete a four-week session for the Education Group, or an eight-week session for the Abuse Group.

Family Program
The family component of treatment is designed to engage the entire family system in the recovery process. Family groups are available two times per week. These sessions differ in that, one time per week, the families come together with the patient for group and the second session is for family members only. The second session allows family members to work on, and identify, their own individual treatment issues.

Specialty Groups
We offer the following specialty aftercare groups:

ADATSA Outpatient:  This is a highly structured group that meets the ongoing recovery goals of patients having completed the state ADATSA program. The emphasis of this program is re-employment. Patients work on additional treatment issues, however, vocational and educational skills are the focus. This group meets twice each week over a 12-week period. Morning and afternoon groups are available.

50s+:  This is a one time per week group that is one hour in length. This group is available at no cost to all graduates of the program age 50 or above. A requirement of attendance is maintaining sobriety and practicing recovery skills.  This group is facilitated by a qualified counselor. This group does not meet the needs of legal requirements. The goal of this program is to meet the special treatment needs of the older patient.
