Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) or Physical Work Performance Evaluation (PWPE)
Providence uses ErgoScience program for FCE, however there are many other systems that are available.
An ErgoScience FCE is a one day 3-4 hour test that determines an individual's capabilities for performing physical work and can be used to evaluate physical work performance and ability:
• After injury
• After prolonged illness
• Prior to employment
• Qualifications for disability compensation
• Guidelines for work hardening and reconditioning
