Pain & Illness Lessons in Living Group

While there is no magic pill for those struggling with chronic pain and illness, there is life after. The Langdon Clinic offers an 8 week psychoeducational therapy group for adults with chronic pain and illness. This group is designed to promote support and new coping skills to manage and reduce pain and promote healing. Stephanie Warnock, LCSW will facilitate the group.

The topics of the groups include:

  • The Power of Group: Who are we and why are we here?
  • The Power of Grief and Loss
  • Self-Talk: The Power of the Mind
  • Pacing Skills: The Power of Behavior
  • Pleasant and Painful Feelings: The Power of our Emotions
  • The Power of Relaxation
  • Relationship Issues: The Power of Connection
  • Recreating a Meaningful Life

Each group includes a relaxation or meditation exercise designed to reduce pain and stress as well as a brief check-in where group members share successes and lessons learned. Handouts will be provided on relevant topics each week. Please contact the front office staff for fee and billing information and Stephanie Warnock for program or participation questions.  Both can be reached at 212-6900.
