Internship Opportunities
The didactic portion of the program covers issues of basic med surg nursing as applicable to the setting. Other components of the program include clinical practicums, developmental groups, and professional growth opportunities. Observation time will be spent in Respiratory Therapy, Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiac Rehab, EKG, Echo, and Cardiac Cath Lab.
After the initial week in orientation, the next 8 weeks will be spent in classes and working on the unit with a preceptor. During the last four weeks of the program the Nurse Intern begin to independently manage a patient assignment with a preceptor as a resource.
