Stop Smoking Course

 

Providence Health System is offering a six-week smoking cessation program using American Lung Association materials.  Facilitated by a certified smoking cessation counselor, this program is available to anyone who is interested in quitting.  The program offers education along with a support group – a winning combination that has a high success rate.  The sessions will cover:

    • Addiction and phases of quitting    
    • Quit techniques
    • Exercises and practice quit techniques          
    • Quit day challenges   
    • Get support from others  who want to quit and stay quit!

Classes are held throughout the year at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Please call 261-3664 to register and for more information.

For anyone who wants to quit smoking, their spouses, family members, etc.

• Speak to a Registered Nurse who has had tobacco cessation training

  Quitline will help caller: 
     • Assess readiness to quit
     • Discuss how to quit/resources/set up support
     • What to do if you relapse
     • Answer questions.
