Who Can Apply?

Anyone who is at least 18 years old and has a high school diploma or GED. A passion for working with the elderly is highly encouraged.
All candidates that are offered a position must successfully pass a criminal background check.

What Happens After I Complete The Program?

You will be prepared to take the exam with the State of Alaska Division of Occupational Licensing to become a Certified Nurse Assistant.

Process and Details

• Qualified applications are sent to the Hiring Manager for review.  If selected for an interview, you will be contacted.

• This is a full time job. Candidates selected for this position are expected to be extremely dedicated to our mission of caring for the poor and vulnerable at the Providence Extended Care Center for a TWO (2) YEAR commitment.  In return, we will provide high level training to assist you in becoming a talented Certified Nursing Assistant.

• The first six (6) weeks of employment is your training period.

• The training wage is $8.50 per hour.

• We are limited in the number of new employees that we can hire for each training session.  If you are not selected the first time, please apply again.

• Upon successful completion of the six (6) week training period and certification, your wage will increase to $13.52 per hour.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE

• You are responsible to pay for your State Certification.

• You will receive at least three (3) payroll checks by the time you sit for the State exam.

• You are responsible for obtaining and paying for two (2) sets of fingerprints at the Anchorage Police Department and a passport picture, which can be obtained at Wal-Mart, Costco or Sears.
