The Family Program offers educational and support services for the entire family. The educational component is our Family Night which occurs each Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:30 pm. and is offered as a rotating 12-week series of videos, lectures, educational information and group discussions. This event is for clients and family members over the age of 10. Breakthrough also offers a variety of support services for family members including: the Family Bridgebuilders practice Al-Anon meeting; the GRACE program; and couple's counseling and children's sessions.

The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is designed for those who meet the diagnostic criteria of chemical dependence and need full-time, highly structured treatment support. Clients in this program meet for 6 to 8 hours a day, six days a week (Monday through Saturday) for 28 treatment days. Upon completion of PHP, clients enter into a Continuing Care program which can last up to 6 months, dependent upon need as determined by the client and the treatment team.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is also for those who are meet the diagnostic criteria of chemical dependence but do not need the full-time, daily structure of PHP. IOP meets for 3 hours in the evenings over 18 weeks of decreasing intensity of structure from three nights a week to one. As with PHP, clients in IOP participate in a Continuing Care program once this phase of treatment is complete. The Continuing Care can last up to 2 months, dependent upon need.

The Outpatient Program (OP) as a primary treatment program is for those who meet the diagnostic criteria of chemical abuse and are, therefore, at increased risk of developing chemical dependency. This program is flexible in terms of scheduling, as it is primarily an educational program with a focus on prevention and life skills/coping skills development.

Relapse Prevention is an 8-week, closed group course which meets once a week for 3 hours. It is available for those who have completed an initial course of treatment, either from Breakthrough or another treatment facility, who have completed the 12-week Family Night series, and who have at least 30 days clean from all addictive chemicals. Abstinence and completion of primary treatment are essential for this course because the information presented requires an understanding of basic addiction and recovery concepts and an ability to process information and develop personal insight. This is a lecture-based course and is not used as a process/support group. Therefore, the incorporation of a sober support network in daily functioning is required.

Continuing Care (CC) is designed for individuals who have successfully completed a comprehensive treatment program. Again, this treatment could have with Breakthrough or another treatment facility. The intensity of structure and length of time of this program is variable dependent upon each individual's needs. The CC may include components such as Gender Issues, Relapse Prevention, or general process.

Bridgebuilders (BB) are in-house, 12 Step meetings available to our alumni, current clients and family members. These meetings are meant to help build a bridge from the Breakthrough environment to the12 Step recovery community and is supported by Breakthrough alumni.  Breakthrough has 3 BB meetings per week: Family BB on Mondays from 6:15-7:15 pm, BB on Thursdays from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, and Fridays from noon to 1 pm.

The GRACE program is for those individuals who have developed unhealthy coping mechanisms as a result of childhood trauma or from living within an addictive family system. This is a intensive, 12-week, closed  group which meets for 3 hours once a week. In addition, individual sessions with primary therapist are offered as needed. Participants develop individualized treatment plans, are expected to maintain abstinence, and be involved in an active program of recovery. To be accepted into the GRACE program, one must complete an assessment to identify one's specific clinical needs.

Stress Management is for those who wish to learn essential skills to deal with today's pressured lifestyles. This program is a 6 week course offered in conjunction with primary treatment programs. In addition, it can be modified to meet the needs of large or corporate groups depending on specific need. Participants are encouraged to be abstinent from addictive, mood-altering chemicals while attending the sessions. Topics addressed include: Breathing; Rational Emotive Therapy; Nutrition and Exercise; Coping Skills (grief, anxiety, anger, time management); Communication; Assertiveness; Finances; and Spirituality.
