Giving to honor, celebrate or remember
Often we search for the right gift to recognize someone who has made a unique contribution to our lives. We want the gift to be meaningful—to respect the values of the recipient and show how important the person is to us. Consider a gift to Providence in that special person’s honor—a gift providing ongoing benefits to others by continuing Providence’s mission.

After the loss of a family member or friend, a memorial gift is a special way to carry on the values and memory of the loved one—by directing it to an area of Providence especially meaningful to that individual. Memorial plaques also give families a chance to share their respect and admiration for their loved one with others.
At your request, Foundation staff can help you create an honor or memorial fund and keep you informed of the benefits of the fund to others over time.

"We have to do everything possible to make sure sick Alaskans aren’t stripped away from their family, friends and home and forced to go outside Alaska for their health care,” says Fuller Cowell, former publisher of the Anchorage Daily News. Fuller knows. He and his wife Christmas, lifelong Alaskans, were uprooted from their home when Fuller was diagnosed with two types of leukemia and had to receive much of his care in Seattle. That is one of the reasons the Cowells are providing for the new Providence Cancer Center through private donations and Fuller’s volunteer leadership of the fundraising effort. “I don’t want Alaskans to have to say goodbye to their homes,”
he says.
