Planned gifts for the future
There is no greater satisfaction than knowing the actions we take today will have impacts that far outlast our lifetimes. Careful estate planning will reflect your values and benefit others for generations
to come.
Charitable trusts and annuities, estate notes, bequests, individual retirement accounts and life insurance policies provide the means to make a gift for the future, meet financial goals that reflect your values and gain tax benefits. Providence can assist you in gift planning, helping you design your gift to make a lasting contribution.
If you have included Providence Alaska in your estate plans, please let us know so we may recognize your extraordinary gift and vision through membership in Providence’s Legacy Society.

John Schmidel arrived in Alaska the same year as statehood, and he has never looked back. “I’ve had 100 times more adventure here,” says John. “There’s no place like Alaska.” A longtime teamster and trucker, John drove rigs from the North Slope to Kenai before retiring. “I’ve seen the most amazing things,” he says. “Where else can you stand in the migratory path of a caribou herd? Where else can you watch bears and moose in your front yard?” Recently John willed his Anchorage home to Providence Alaska. Why? “They do good work,” says John. “For 30 years, I’ve watched them grow. They are always striving to improve their capability and potential and make things better for Alaskans. They are the best charity around.”
