Insurance and Billing

Insurance
Providence Alaska Medical Center will bill your insurance company or make arrangements with you to pay for your procedure. Prior to being admitted, you must receive pre-authorization from your insurance provider. If you do not have insurance, the admitting clerk will discuss payment options with you.

Billing Information
About 7-10 days after your procedure you will receive an itemized statement from the hospital. This also will tell you that your insurance provider has been billed. Once your insurance provider has paid its portion, subsequent statements will include a pink-boxed area stating "Pay This Amount". Please forward any balance listed in this box to the Patient Accounts Department at the address provided on the statement. You will continue to receive monthly statements until your account has been paid. You may also pay your bill online.

You can expect to receive separate billing statements for other services such as:
• Hospital - including Lab work and facilities services
• Anesthesiologist - if services were provided
• Radiology - if X-rays or other radiology procedures were done

If you have any questions regarding your bill, please contact the Patient Accounts Department at 565-6500.
