When a loved one is suddenly admitted to the Critical Care or Progressive Care areas, it is a very distressing time for family members. There are feelings of uncertainty, fear and helplessness. The Critical Care Staff is acutely aware of the feelings you are experiencing, and want you to understand what is happening.

Visiting the Patient
We understand the importance to the patient and family of having time together during a stay in the hospital.
Phoning the Critical Care areas
It is our desire to relieve your apprehension and to keep you informed at all times.
Atrium Waiting Area
The atrium waiting area has been provided to make families as comfortable as possible.
Take care of yourself
Under stress, family members will often neglect their own basic needs, such as eating and sleeping. We recommend families take time to eat properly, get plenty of sleep, and schedule time away from the hospital.
