 The Wheelchair and Seating Clinic is a partnership between the Providence Alaska Medical Center's Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Therapy and The Children’s Hospital at Providence to provide a centralized location for the evaluation and recommendation of wheelchairs and other specialized assistive technologies for children and adults with physical disabilities.
By performing comprehensive evaluations and offering a wide variety of equipment options we help match each individual’s functional needs with equipment, which will help them reach their fullest potential and highest level of independence. Services include: | • | Physical therapy, functional mobility, and seating/positioning evaluation | | • | Trials with various equipment options | | • | Equipment recommendations with medical justification and prescription | | • | Collaboration with primary physician and vendor to insure appropriateness of equipment | | • | Follow-up services |
Referrals are welcome from patients, family members, physicians, therapists, and vendors. All major insurance carriers accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid.
