Six types of cancer can affect a female’s reproductive system: cancer of the uterus (endometrial/sarcoma), ovary/fallopian tube cancer, cervical cancer, cancer of the vulva, vaginal cancer or gestational trophoblastic disease. Women diagnosed with gynecologic cancer are generally referred to a gynecologic oncologist, and these services are now
available in Lacey.
Providers from Pacific Gynecology Specialists, one of the most respected gynecologic oncology groups in the state, have contracted with Providence to provide professional services at the clinic. Gynecologic oncologists specialize in the medical and surgical care of women with gynecologic malignancies, as well as complex benign gynecological conditions.
Physicians from Pacific Gynecology Specialists will be on-site at our Lacey, Washington clinic one Wednesday each month to provide pre- and post-operative services.
“We’re very pleased to offer this critical specialty care locally,” says James Lechner, MD, oncologist. “Not having to travel for this type of care is an important benefit for women who are facing illness; it will help to ease the inconvenience and disruption that treatment brings to them and their loved ones.”
