11-Bridge Ride

In order to accommodate MAX light rail construction, our traditional 10-bridge ride will cross the Marquam  and Broadway Bridges twice—crossing the Willamette River 11 times on 8 bridges. This route will have a new start location near the American Red Cross in north Portland on the Kerby ramp to the Fremont Bridge.

Start time: 6:30 a.m., 6:45 a.m., 7 a.m., 7:15 a.m., 7:30 a.m.
Start location: The Kerby Street ramp to the Fremont Bridge
Distance: 37 miles
Day-of-event registration and Will-call: American Red Cross parking lot, N. Vancouver and N. Cook Street, beginning at 6 a.m.

Bridges (in order):

Limitations/restrictions: This can be a challenging ride for children. Those under the age of 12 are encouraged to join the 6-Bridge Family Ride. Children’s registration rate is not available for this ride.

Any riders returning from the Sellwood Bridge after 8:40 a.m. will be diverted to the Marquam Bridge, thereby missing the Hawthorne and Ross Island bridges.

At 10:45 a.m., the north section of the route will close. All riders leaving the Fremont Bridge after 10:45 a.m. will be directed to N.W. Naito Parkway and to the finish line.

8-Bridge Ride

Start time: 7 a.m., 7:15 a.m., 7:30 a.m.
Start location: S.W. Naito Parkway and S.W. Salmon near the Hawthorne Bridge
Distance: 24 miles
Day-of-event registration and Will-call: S.W. Naito Parkway and S.W. Pine Street, beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Bridges (in order):

Limitations/restrictions: Children’s registration rate is not available.

At 10:45 a.m., the north section of the route will close. All riders leaving the Fremont Bridge after 10:45 a.m. will be directed to N.W. Naito Parkway and to the finish line.

6-Bridge Family Ride

The 6-Bridge Family Ride crosses six of the seven downtown bridges. It is timed this year so there will be minimal interaction between cyclists participating in other Providence Bridge Pedal routes.

Start time: 9 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 9:30 a.m.
Start location: S.W. Naito Parkway and S.W. Salmon Street near the Hawthorne Bridge
Distance: 14 miles
Day-of-event registration and Will-call:
S.W. Naito Parkway and S.W. Pine Street, beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Bridges (in order):

Limitations/restrictions: At 11:30 a.m. access to the Fremont Bridge will close.  At 11:20 a.m. any remaining riders will be turned around at the N. Interstate Avenue rest stop.  They will proceed to the finish line via the Broadway Bridge.
