As a not-for-profit health system, Providence embraces its responsibility to provide care and services to meet the needs of those we serve. Providence talks to many community partners to help us determine the most significant needs. As part of our outreach, every three years we conduct a formal Community Assets and Needs Assessment to ask important questions about needs. This involves visiting and interviewing more than 100 local and statewide organizations. Two groups at Providence that manage grants use the community assessment information to set priorities for giving. Here are just some of the groups that have partnered with us in serving the needs of our communities, through Providence-sponsored grants, donations and sponsorships:
"Thanks to the Providence Health & Services, The Dougy Center has been able to expand program services into Washington County, as well as develop resources for Latino families grieving the death of a loved one. We've published the first guidebook in Spanish, 'Helping Children Cope with Death,' with the help of Providence funding, and deeply appreciate your stewardship in giving back to the community. On behalf of the children, teens and their families who will receive support during one of life's most difficult times, thank you!"
