Natural beauty

Providence Cancer Center entranceDesign that lifts the spirit

Step into the lobby of the new Providence Cancer Center, and it just feels healthful. The airy atrium is suffused with natural light and soothing colors. These natural design elements carry throughout the building - even into the patient rooms and bathrooms, which have high ceilings that allow for warm interior lighting.

Gardens, too, are omnipresent, tucked in where you may not expect them. Sensitive landscaping provides a healthy and beautiful environment for recovery. Here, you have sun when you want warmth and cool shade when you don’t.

Chemotherapy patients have garden access with views of the Portland skyline. And outside patient windows are our icons of the Pacific Northwest: Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainier and rolling green hills that are ever-present reminders of the beauty of the natural world.

We took KATU-AM Northwest cameras behind the scenes of the new Providence Cancer Center on the eve of our grand opening.
