Lauren's mother and aunt both worked in healthcare when she was growing up, and hearing their stories about what they did for their patients inspired her to become a nurse. "I truly love to help others and to help maintain a person's quality of life during difficult times. While tough at times, helping people going through their most difficult journey with cancer and more specifically central nervous system tumors can been rewarding." In her practice, Lauren prioritizes holistic care just as much as primary treatment of cancer. Through teamwork, Lauren and her colleagues offer not just clinical care but also support groups, opportunities to participate in research and more. "My most important role as a provider is to be an advocate for patients and their families throughout their journey," she says. "I enjoy developing a trusting relationship with my patients and their families." Lauren grew up in Indiana before moving to Oregon where she now enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, reading and spending time outdoors.
