As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and I evaluate, diagnose and treat a variety of mental health issues. I help to clarify diagnosis, optimize your psychiatric medications and refer for further assessments if necessary. I work with your primary care provider because I believe that mental health is not just a condition of the mind, but really the whole body. I also believe that working with a psychotherapist is instrumental for true recovery and am happy to collaborate with your current psychotherapist or help to refer you to one. I work with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. I work with a wide range of diagnosis to include depression, anxiety, mood disorders, schizophrenia, substance abuse and some dementia. I believe that medicines are not magic, there is no “happy pill”, medicines will not “fix” you; medicines put you in the place to fix yourself.
