About Timothy W. Bax

Dr. Bax has been practicing in Spokane since 1998. He graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine and completed his residence in General surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University. He went on to complete an additional year of training in the area of Minimally Invasive Surgery. Dr. Bax has extensive experience treating all areas of general surgery as well as trauma care and acute care surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Bax is recognized as a regional expert in the care of esophageal and stomach disorders including minimally invasive surgery for reflux disease, hiatal hernia repair, motility disorders and cancers of the esophagus and stomach. Dr. Bax serves in many leadership roles in the community. He is the Trauma Medical Director for Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital, the only level 2 trauma hospitals east of the Cascades. Dr. Bax also serves as a governor for the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Bax performs surgery at Sacred Heart Medical Center, Holy Family Hospital and Columbia Surgical Center and he is available to see patients at Cataldo Health Center and North Nevada Health Center.

Outside of work Dr. Bax enjoys wood working, board games and the outdoors-skiing in the winter, golf and boating in the summer. He is married with 2 boys who are currently in graduate school.
