The best surgeon I have ever had. He is very direct, sometimes overly so. When he has bad news it hits hard. He is eager to comment on care outside his specialty and it can be confusing.

Dr. Carlson is extremely knowledgeable and a magnificent surgeon. He also listens and responds to my concerns agreeing to wait and watch a hematoma that dissolved on its own thus preventing another surgery.

I would not have any other neurosurgeon take care of me, Dr. Carlson has operated on my back twice and removed a brain tumor. I have the utmost respect for him as a person, physician, and friend. I trust Dr. Carlson with my life. He is compassionate, caring, concerned, kind, listens, explains, and we together come to agreement on the health issues. He is a wonderful person and NOT an arrogant, unapproachable, physician [...]

It took way too long to see someone - First referral didn't work out & no one called to tell me I would not be seen & was rescheduled after waiting weeks and I followed up to try to find out what happened, never received a satisfying answer.

I, my husband and daughter have had multiple doctor changes. I don't really know who my GP is. So when it was time for my yearly f/u care w/ my neurologist Dr. Carlson, I had to personally make calls to [...] just 3 days before my appt to get [...] to push an immediate referal to see him. Even though the MRI was done and already approved?!

Dr Carlson and his ream are always thorough in explaining test results and take time to answer questions and address concerns. Sometimes the wait time may run late but only because of the nature of their specialty (emergency situations arise). When they are attending to you you have their full attention.
