Professional Statement
Dr. Greg Carter’s interest in medicine was fostered early on by his father, a general surgeon. After losing a close friend to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Dr. Carter began researching ways to ease symptoms of neuromuscular disease. He co-founded the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) / ALS Center at the University of Washington and the MDA Regional Neuromuscular Disease Center at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA. The MDA recognized Dr. Carter for his work in neuromuscular by awarding him the MDA’s Excellence in Clinical Care award.
