Recently saw provider for rash, he looked from 5 feet and said, eczema, use a cream, it was ring worm, self diagnosis, when I emailed asking what to do about it he said see a dermatologist. He's uninvolved distracted and lacks concern. Spends more time on the computer while asking questions to be personally involved with patient concerns.

It would be nice if health care providers in my area could see their patients on short notice when they are sick or need medical attention. I rarely bother trying to see what I would call my regular Dr. except for my annual checkup which I make a year in advance. If I need health care or advice on short notice I may try to find local help, which usually means an appointment several days out, or I may just drive to the nearest first care type of facility 70 to 100 miles away in Deer Park or Spokane. Sometimes I will call my insurance "talk to a nurse" line but that is not always very useful. At other times I just go online and see what I can find on the internet which isn't the best answer but it may be the only option. Family type medicine and health care has certainly changed in my lifetime. It's much more like a commercial process than a personal relationship like it once was. That is not to say it's good or bad it's just a fact of today's health care.

Very happy with Dr. Bernard as PCP. However, the difficulty of gaining an appointment specifically with him within a reasonable time if something comes up out of regular checkups is concerning. I know, the team concept has been discussed with me.

There should be more personnel to handle appointment/phones in the patient service area.

Dr. Currigan is excellent... But I have to wait too long for an appointment.. (months) My typical health care issues deserve shorter response time (days). I frequently end up seeing PA's, which is not my first choice. It seems to me Providence has convoluted his value to patients by making him a part time administrator and limiting access to patients, thereby restricting his value (to me and others) as a family physician. Access to a family physician who knows your medical background is what I have been paying for, for over 30 years.

I am just a little confused. Dr. Currigan explained that he was going to refer me to a physical therapist and to a doctor who would perform a nerve conductive test. I left without any info on either but expect I will receive a call or letter in my mail?? I hope soon!

Prior to contact, my provider read recent medical report and finding of another provider and was well aware of my needs. He found my condition improved and therefore extended my next appointment from 3 months to 6 months.
