Dr. Lazio has published her original research on many clinical topics, including gamma knife radiosurgery, brain tumor growth factors, treatment of unusual spinal tumors, avoiding complications of spine surgery, treatment of fracture with neurological involvement, the use of anticoagulation (anti-clotting medicine) in neurosurgery, imaging in neurosurgery and rare types of malignant brain tumors. Her original research has been published in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Neurosurgical Focus, Surgical Neurology and elsewhere.

Dr. Lazio has conducted laboratory research in the University of Maryland Department of Neurosurgery, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery and the Case Western Reserve University Department of Pharmacology, investigating topics ranging from experimental treatments for leukemia to preparing protocols for recurrent brain tumors.

Dr. Lazio has also given numerous presentations on topics including gamma knife treatment planning; gamma knife surgery for malignant brain tumors and intracranial lesions; increased survival rates after special treatments for metastatic brain tumors; current concepts in head injury; acute management of spinal cord injury; current practices in treatment of spinal tumors and invasive pituitary tumors; concussion in athletes and many more.

Only negative was time to get an appointment. I had to wait 3 wks. to be seen. Problematic given back injury.

Outstanding care from Dr. Lazio - she listened, she explained MRI's showed me MRI's. She was down to earth & cared about me. She looked me in the eye & was NOT typing on computer.

Dr. Lazio is a fantastic doctor and she has an amazing team of people. I feel safe with Dr. Lazio. I feel that she is highly skilled and competent and that I can trust her to take care of me. Dr. Lazio may have saved my life; I don't know that I would have chosen to continue to live without the use of my leg. It often seems that the practice of medicine is more process, guess work and trial & error than science; but Dr. Lazio told me what my problem was, what caused it, what she would do to fix it and what I could expect as an outcome. She delivered, and I have my leg back! I can ride my bike, hike, walk my dogs, practice yoga I am alive again. I am very grateful for her care.
