Breastfeeding is the most healthy and natural way to feed your baby. But it's not always the easiest. That's why Providence Everett Medical Center is committed to giving new mothers the support they need to make breastfeeding a successful experience.
 Our lactation department believes that early identification and intervention of nursing problems offers the best chance for successful breastfeeding. Close follow-up maximizes maternal milk supply, helps infants thrive and preserves the breastfeeding relationship.
Family Resource Center
For your convenience, the Family Resource Center carries high-quality breast pumps for rent and purchase. Additionally, a full range of breastfeeding supplies and equipment including: breast pump accessories, breastfeeding pillows and nursing bras are available.

Prenatal Consultation
If you are pregnant and plan to breastfeed your baby, we encourage you to schedule a private appointment with a lactation specialist before your baby is born. A prenatal consultation will help you understand the breastfeeding process, prepare for successful breastfeeding, and solve potential problems before they arise.
Private Consultation
Private consultation is available by appointment, seven days a week, 10am - 5pm. Personalized assistance is especially helpful in overcoming significant challenges, such as preterm feeding patterns, technique and infant weight gain. An hourly fee is charged for private consultation, and insurance coverage varies. Check with your insurance representative or with the lactation specialist before making an appointment.
