Volunteers Are Essential To The Work We Do Whether a volunteer is helping families, visiting, or updating a database, each contributes greatly to the quality of life of the people we serve. Over 290 volunteers serve our patients and agency.

You will fit right in! Providence Hospice and Home Care is comprised of four major programs that occur in the patient’s home: The Hospice Program: Volunteers assist with respite care, emotional support, light housekeeping, transportation, comfort therapies, fundraising and record oral histories. Volunteers may assist the Bereavement Program with emotional support for family members by either telephone or home visit. They may co-facilitate a grief support group or assist with clerical work in the Bereavement office. They may also choose to mentor a grieving child or volunteer at Camp Erin, our grief camp for kids ages 6-17. Volunteers receive training and on-going educational opportunities throughout the year. The Home Care Program: Volunteers assist with respite care, household tasks, transportation, etc. The Carousel Program: Volunteers assist with emotional support, running errands, reading, respite care, Camp Erin, Saturday Gatherings, fund raising, etc. The Lifeline Program: Volunteers assist with fund raising and unit installation and instruction. Volunteer Opportunity for Knitters and Crocheters: Volunteers from Work Opportunities are inviting other knitters and crocheters to help make lap robes and animals for hospice patients. Interested knitters can join in at Jalo's Coffee & Juice Bar at 8921 Evergreen Way, Everett 98208, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. For more information call Dena at Work Opportunities at (425) 778-5051.
