
Providence Everett Medical Center has received recognition in multiple categories from HealthGrades®, a healthcare quality rating firm. According to the HealthGrades study, PEMC is the 2006 and 2007 recipient of the Stroke Excellence Award™ and the recipient of the 2007 Critical Care Excellence Award™.
PEMC’s stroke services rank among the top five percent in the nation for the second year in a row, and its critical care services rank among the top 10 percent of all hospitals in the country. These awards were made based on outstanding patient outcomes in these clinical areas.
The study also named PEMC as “Best in the Region™” for:
• Overall Cardiac Care
• Cardiac Surgery
• General Surgery
• Overall GI Services
Providence Everett also received the highest possible five-star ratings for the treatment of community acquired pneumonia and for the treatment of sepsis which is an infection of the blood.

HealthGrades independently analyzed more than 5,000 hospitals across the country for its 2007 Hospital Quality in America Study. The study objectively assessed clinical outcomes and quality. HealthGrades is just one of many awards PEMC has recently received such as being named a 100 Top Hospital in America and a Solucient 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospital.
