Return to Midwifery Care Home Page  | Cindi Anderson Certified Nurse Midwife Cindi graduated from University of Mississippi in 1984 and has been providing midwifery care in more than half-a-dozen countries ever since. When not helping women realize their strengths, she enjoys traveling with her husband. |
 | Rebecca Frevert Certified Nurse Midwife Rebecca graduated from the University of Utah's Midwifery program in 1981 and, after almost 25 years, she still loves delivering babies. Her other interests include raising her two sons, gardening, reading, and hiking the beautiful Pacific Northwest. |
 | Ardyth Hintzman Certified Nurse Midwife Ardyth has been a midwife for 28 years. Besides delivering babies, she likes gardening and canning. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her two grandsons (both delivered by a Providence Midwife). |
 | Ira Kantrowitz-Gordon Certified Nurse Midwife Ira completed his Nurse-Midwifery training in 1998 at the University of Washington. He enjoys working with women and families from many different cultures striving to work together towards a safe and satisfying pregnancy and childbirth. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children and studying classical guitar and Spanish. |
 | Laura Leigh Certified Nurse Midwife Laura graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1981 with an MSN in Nurse Midwifery. She became a Midwife because she values health. She believes education and healthy lifestyle choices can prevent major diseases. In this way, she hopes to positively influence a baby's start in life. |
 | Sky Rogers Certified Nurse Midwife Sky graduated from University of Washington in 2007. She was inspired to become a midwife while working in a women's shelter in King County. Over the years she noticed the empowering impact a positive birth experience had on women's lives. As a result she started on the journey to becoming a midwife. When not at Providence Midwifery Care, Sky enjoys hiking, x-country skiing, and spending time with family. |
 | Ann Russell Certified Nurse Midwife Ann graduated from midwifery school in 1979 and has found working with women is her life's passion. She has loved helping women of many different ethnic backgrounds with birth; each birth is so unique. She has three children and enjoys traveling and learning about the world’s diversity. |
 | Gretchen Weiss-Elliot Certified Nurse Midwife Gretchen graduated from the Frontier School of Nurse Midwifery and Family Nursing Community-Based Nurse-Midwifery Education Program in 1994. She enjoys spending time with her children and step-children, volunteering at their elementary school, golfing, reading, and traveling. |
 | Julia Wiklof Certified Nurse Midwife Julia has been a Nurse Midwife since the summer of 1995. Before that, she was a labor and delivery nurse, childbirth educator and public heath nurse for ten years. She has also been a hospital unit manager and nurse educator. She graduated from the University of Washington, Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing and Case Western Reserve. She enjoys getting to know her patients and personalizing care during pregnancy and birth. |
 | Anita Brown Registered Social Worker Anita has been working at Providence Midwifery Care since 1992 as a maternity support person/counselor/social worker. She graduated with a Masters in Social Work in 1974 from the University of Missouri and is registered as a licensed independent certified social worker in this state. She has two college-aged sons and loves to read, go on walks, and enjoy time with family and friends. |
 | Dana Kelly Registered Nurse Dana graduated from the University of Washington School of Nursing in 1975 and has mostly practiced nursing in the Public Health sector. She has been a Maternity Support Services nurse through the First Steps program on Whidbey Island for nine years and joined Providence Midwifery Care in March, 2005. She has two daughters and enjoys gardening, reading and music. |
 | Rose Brown Registered Dietician
Rose received her bachelors degree in Nutrition at Bastyr University before completing her Masters at the University of Washington. She also enjoys working with the inpatient population at Providence hospital. In her spare time she loves to walk, hike, read, play in the garden and enjoy time with friends. |
