Family Maternity Center

Having a baby is an extraordinary experience - surely nothing can compare to holding the child you have created for the very first time. For nine months you've anticipated and prepared, and when the big moment comes, you should be in the care of respectful experts, taking comfort in a setting designed to make the birthing experience all the more remarkable for you and your family.

Our nursing staff is dedicated to making you feel at home in our Family Maternity Center. We never lose sight of the fact that every birth is a unique and special event in each family's life.

With more than 4,000 women and their doctors choosing to deliver with Providence Regional Medical Center Everett each year, we've grown to become one of the largest birthing centers in Washington State. We're also a quality leader, with a Cesarean-section rate below the national average. And every year, we incorporate new practices and the latest technology to deliver care that meets the highest standards of medical practice and family support.

Maternity ServicesProvidence Everett Family Maternity Suite
Before, during and after the birth of your child, the Family Maternity Center is equipped to handle whatever needs arise. Besides our 42 new single-patient, first-class birthing suites, we have 10 rooms for the specialized care of mothers with higher than normal risk for complications and 10 more rooms for mothers with special post-birth needs.

Families experience the entire birth process of labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum in one exquisitely designed suite. Every suite includes:

  • Sleeping sofa for the birth partner
  • Guest chair
  • Table and reading lamp
  • Private bathroom with large tub and pulsating shower head
  • TV/VCR/CD player

All of our newborn patients have immediate access, should it be necessary, to our Newborn Intensive Care Unit for infants born prematurely or with medical problems. Our Level III NICU is staffed by nurses with advanced neonatal training, neonatal nurse practitioners and a neonatal doctor available 24 hours a day. These services are especially important for mothers with risk factors such as health trouble, diabetes or high blood pressure. But for all families, it provides welcome assurance that we can care for all of your baby's needs, right here in Everett.

Family-Centered Care
With easy access to volumes of health and medical information, patients today are capable, educated and savvy, engaged in partnerships with their health care providers to make smart decisions for the whole family.

While our quality staff and advanced technology are impressive, most families remember us best for our nurturing environment. It is an atmosphere that welcomes the involvement of family members every step along the way, from childbirth preparation classes to family areas for children and grandparents waiting for their first glimpse.

One of the most exciting aspects of the Family Maternity Center is the integration of a Family-Centered Care philosophy that encourages women and their families to be involved in their own health care. With an emphasis on the provider-family relationship, Family-Centered Care involves the whole family, honors socioeconomic and cultural differences, and fosters education.

The goal is to nurture, support and empower patients and families toward the highest degree of health.
