The Heart and Vascular Institute at Providence Everett provides a spectrum of services that exceeds many programs in Washington. These services include:
Center for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Prevention
Our goal is to help people understand how to decrease their risk for heart disease by pinpointing those at risk before symptoms occur. With screening and prevention programs such as The Healthy Heart Exam, and The Stop Smoking Tool Shop, we strive to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular and pulmonary disease in our community. With rehabilitation and support programs we strive to reduce the impact of cardiovascular and pulmonary disease on those patients and their families in our community.
Center for Diagnostic Cardiology
When heart-related symptoms occur, we provide a broad array of non-invasive diagnostic tools such as electrocardiograms, treadmill studies, echocardiography and more. If needed, we provide angiography services to locate the source of the problem. Our goal is to find the cause of pain or disability as quickly as possible.
Center for Interventional Cardiology
Our heart and vascular interventional labs are state-of-the-art, providing advanced plaque removing techniques and stent placement interventions. Most importantly, our highly skilled physicians and staff serve three times as many heart attack and stroke patients, as compared to similar hospitals.
Center for Arrhythmia Management
Our electrophysiology lab is one of the few of its kind in the nation. This lab allows our cardiologists to provide a broader array of techniques to manage irregular heartbeats. Along with the availability of pacemakers, and implantable and external defibrillators, our three-dimensional mapping and ablation equipment creates the ability to tackle the most difficult cases.
Center for Surgical Services
Our surgeons perform some of the most complicated coronary and peripheral artery bypass and valve procedures available. In addition, we are one of the few programs in the Puget Sound area to perform the remarkable TMR (transmyocardial revascularization) laser surgery alternative to treat chronic angina and AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm) stent grafts to aneurysm repairs. We also perform the Maze procedure for atrial fibrillation and carotid endarterectomy for neck artery blockages, two major causes of stroke.
Emergency Response
The Heart and Vascular Institute, is the only tertiary interventional resource in the region, works with six community hospitals to provide heart and stroke patients with access to the appropriate level of care.
