The Pediatric Care unit at Providence Regional specializes in the inpatient treatment of children from newborns to teens (up to age 18) and is staffed 24/7 by pediatric hospitalists—board certified pediatricians who specialize in caring for young hospitalized patients. Located in the Pavilion for Women and Children, the unit focuses on family-centered care and treats everything from jaundice to appendicitis to the flu.
A child-friendly environment, the unit has a special activity room with games, colorful etched glass walls and a 15-foot tropical aquarium, providing a fun and safe area for both patients and their siblings. Patient rooms are private with pull-out beds that can accommodate mom or dad for overnight stays.
