Volunteer opportunities
If you are interested in supporting victims of sexual abuse and assault, you may consider becoming a volunteer sexual assault advocate. Dedicated volunteers are essential to our agency and the services we provide. Our advocates serve more than 2,800 clients per year through a variety of systems, including our crisis line and Emergency Department response.
Our volunteer sexual assault advocates:
-
staff our agency's 24-hour crisis hotline and may respond to the emergency room during that time in order to support a victim of an assault
-
complete 40 hours of initial training and work for a time with an experienced advocate
commit to cover a minimum of two 12-hour, on-call shifts per month for a service period of at least one year
-
are required to attend a monthly training meeting on the second Tuesday evening each month, in order to maintain their required 12 hours of annual continuing education.
If you would like additional information on applying to become a volunteer advocate, please call 425-388-7408.
