Virtual Tour Becomes Reality for Third-Graders

Since September 2008, the third graders of Lakewood's English Crossing Elementary School have had a virtual front-row seat learning about the new 12-story medical tower.

On May 29, the class went on a two-hour field tour of the construction site to wrap up their year-long learning experience. View photos and be sure to check out the students' journal entries and drawings (PDF).

Hospital parking has changed for the Colby Campus

The new Colby Campus 1,000-car parking garage is now open. The old parking structure at 13th Street and Rockefeller was demolished to make way for the new medical tower expected to open in 2011. See the construction live.

Parking Information
Please allow extra time to reach your destination, and download a copy of our new Colby parking map.
Parking in the garage requires a walk of up to 800 feet (about two city blocks). Anyone not able to walk this distance should consider additional options:

  • A free shuttle runs continuously between the visitor’s first floor (designated P1) of the garage and the patient drop-off area, located in front of the Emergency Department (ED). The pickup points are at the two groups of elevators on the P1 level. The shuttle runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays.

  • Handicap parking is available near the garage elevators and in the 14th Street ED parking lot.

  • ED parking spots are located on the third floor (P3 level) of the garage near the elevators, and limited ED spots are also available on 14th Street surface lot.

Additional parking attendants are available to help direct traffic, communicate parking changes, pass out maps and operate the shuttle.
