July 8, 2010
BEAVERTON, Ore. — Once again, A.M. Best gives Providence Health Plan one of its best – an “A (Excellent)” rating.
A.M. Best is the world’s oldest and most authoritative insurance rating and information source. The company has just affirmed the rating originally given to Providence in 2007.
“Our health plan strives to make sure our customers are getting the most affordable, cost-effective health care possible,” says Jack Friedman, chief executive office for Providence Health Plan. “This affirmation from A.M. Best reflects on the great work being done every day by the people of Providence.”
In announcing the rating, A.M. Best cited Providence Health Plan’s “strong operating performance, solid capital position and favorable results.” In the past, the firm noted that Providence Health Plan’s growth has been sparked by innovation, new products, successful medical management programs and continued investment in technology.
A.M. Best rating information is used by insurance brokers and others to help make decisions about insurance plans and to help compare insurance providers.
