Providence Health Plans Gets Top Marks for Customer Service

PORTLAND, Ore. – When it comes to customer service, Providence Health Plans is the best in Oregon.

That's the finding from the national 2009 Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey. Providence ranked tops in Oregon in:

  • overall customer service,
  • overall health plan satisfaction,
  • accuracy of claims processing,
  • and providing information or help that was needed.

"These rankings reflect the great work of our entire customer service team," said Alison Schrupp, chief operations officer for Providence Health Plans. "Our members are quickly connected with a knowledgeable and friendly representative who ensures that their question is fully resolved before the call is over. We also can adjust a claim, if needed, while the caller is still on the phone."

In addition, Providence offers an interactive telephone system that allows members to get information about claims status quickly. Members also can contact customer service via e-mail and receive claims information through the Web site www.myprovidence.org.
