PEBB Selects Providence
Message from Jack Friedman
Chief Executive, Providence Health Plans
The Oregon Public Employees Benefit Board has selected Providence Health Plans to administer its new self-funded health plan, effective Jan. 1, 2010. The contract runs for two years.
In making its decision, the PEBB board took four main factors into consideration:
- alignment with PEBB's vision for health care for the more than 100,000 people it will serve under the new plan,
- quality and availability of a physician and hospital network,
- cost of administering the plan, and
- administrative readiness and customer service.
While we are proud of PHP's performance in all of these areas, I believe that the service we have been performing for PEBB along with our strategic focus and its alignment with the PEBB vision helped us carry the day. We are absolutely thrilled and honored to have been chosen – and we are dedicated to providing PEBB members and their families cost-effective, quality health care services.
