Providence Preferred is a preferred provider organization - a network of physicians, hospitals and ancillary service providers throughout Oregon and southwest Washington designed to manage the cost, delivery and quality of health care. About Providence Preferred
Providence Preferred is specifically designed to provide you the flexibility of choosing your own physicians within our panel of more than 3500 providers. It allows you to access high quality medical care at reduced rates. The PPO providers give you medical care; your health plan administers your benefits and pays your claims. This means that if you are a Providence Preferred member, you have the option to seek medical services from a provider listed in the PPO provider directory. By doing this, you are ensured lower out of pocket costs. The provider will bill your insurance company or claims administrator. That organization then determines your benefits and pays your claim for you. It's that simple.

Providence Preferred members have three chief advantages:
- You will be receiving quality health care from some of the area's most respected private practice providers and hospitals in the area.
- You will save money through lower out of pocket expenses, not only because of the practitioner's agreement to offer preferred rates, but because your health insurance may offer a higher level of benefits when you use Providence Preferred providers and facilities.
