Providence Health Plan is honored to serve you by administering health benefits for you and your family in PEBB’s Statewide Plan beginning 2010. We are proud to have been selected to serve your needs based on our commitment to quality and service. Your health matters to us. Rest assured that we will administer your medical benefits consistent with your Benefit Board’s plan design.

The board has made no changes to the plan benefits, including out-of-area coverage.

More than 11,000 providers in Oregon and bordering areas participate in the network for PEBB's Statewide Plan. Chances are the doctor from whom you receive care is in our PEBB network. Through the Statewide Plan, you'll enjoy:

• Access to 58 of the top hospitals in Oregon, southwest Washington and west-central Idaho.
• An extensive national network of providers, throughout all 50 states.
• Choice of providers, including specialists, without a referral.
• Alternative care, including acupuncture, chiropractic and naturopathic care, available from your choice of provider.
• In-plan access to OHSU and Doernbecher hospitals, clinics and physicians (for this PEBB Statewide Plan 2010 only).
• In-plan coverage for trauma, burns, high-risk obstetrics and many pediatric services at Legacy hospitals.
• Continued coverage for services from out-of-network providers, with no change in member responsibility for payment compared with 2009.

PEBB's Statewide Plan is designed to keep you and your family well.

• Low or zero copays for in-plan health and wellness services used most often. This includes regular physician visits, immunizations and mammograms when using in-plan providers.
• Nurse outreach to members with chronic conditions. These caring professionals assist members with chronic illnesses get the education and information they need to stay healthier. This focused intervention improves quality of life, reduces the need for emergency care and helps to control medical costs. In fact, Providence Health Plan is rated as the "best in the nation" (in a tie with Harvard Pilgrim Health) for the health of all members, as designated by the Disease Management Purchasing Consortium International 2001 - 2007.
• Online wellness information including a personalized health report and motivational action plan available via our secure online WebMD tools. These tools are available free to members.

If you or a family member is currently receiving care for a serious medical condition, please complete and send us a transition of care form during open enrollment so that we have the most complete and up-to-date information.

Medicine can be an important part of your healthcare. Convenient, low-cost access to commonly prescribed medication is part of your plan.

We believe that you should have access to the information you need to manage out-of-pocket costs when making your health care decisions. Members can get online access to diagnoses, medical cost estimates and bills through myProvidence.

There's more to your health than doctors and medicine, so all members have access to discounts on activities, sports and recreation including gym memberships. Go to the LifeBalance site to see what discounts are available on things you like to do!

We are staffing our customer service team dedicated just to PEBB members now to be ready to take your calls during open enrollment this fall.
