Cheryl Scarcelli is 2009 Marylhurst University Distinguished New Graduate

Sales executive, mom, community leader, breast cancer survivor – and now distinguished new graduate, Cheryl Scarcelli is recognized this month by Marylhurst University for earning her 2008 Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Leadership.

The Marylhurst University award is presented annually by faculty and alumni to a new graduate who exemplifies the Marylhurst mission by overcoming obstacles while achieving academic excellence. Cheryl will accept the honor at a special awards luncheon on Oct. 17. The awards committee cited her academic achievement while celebrating her success at balancing coursework with a full-time job, single-parenting two children, volunteer work with several charitable and public organizations, and successful breast cancer treatment.
