The right prescription for value-driven health care
Value Based Pharmacy Plans from Providence Health Plan offer employers a two-pronged approach for improving health care quality for their employees and curbing health care costs shared by everyone.
Available with all of our traditional medical plans and our new Value Based Open Option plans, value-based prescription benefits enhance value by:
- Lowering copays for high-value prescription drugs used to prevent serious health problems resulting from common chronic health conditions
- Raising copays or eliminating coverage for prescription drugs with a weak evidence base
More than 20 commonly prescribed, first-line treatments for asthma and other breathing disorders, diabetes, heart disease (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, congestive heart failure) and depression are offered with an ultra-low copay in the Value Based Pharmacy Plan formulary.
The Value Based Pharmacy Plan formulary also includes the thousands of other drugs that employees are used to seeing in our other prescription plans - including many low-cost generics.
